John Leslie Art Prize Competition

Artist Jenny Davis has been shortlisted for the prestigious "2006 JOHN LESLIE ART PRIZE" exhibition to be held at Gippsland Art Gallery in Victoria Australia .

The selection panel were requested to choose between 40 and 50 works from over 170 entries for this years prize from which the winner will be chosen by the judging panel on 4th. October. more

"Outlook" Exhibition

Since Jenny Davis’s debut onto the New York art scene in 2004, there has been great international and local demand for her works.

After an invitation to Artiade

in Athens, Davis has beenoffered exhibitions in Italy,(Florence Biennale) and Germany (Leipzig & Berlin), and will take part in an artists’ residency in Barcelona, Spain, later this year.

Her non objective works are rich in colour, line, and symbol in an abstract framework. They are simultaneously refined and boldly expressionist. The works are beautiful, even as they tell stories of disruption, conflict, and emotional release. In short, they are a feast for the eye and the soul.

Artist in Residence

Jenny Davis has been awarded a support stipend residency at Can Serrat International Art Center in Spain 2005.

This award supports the professional development of visual artists and gives them undisturbed time to investigate their ideas ,to create new works.

In Spain, Davis will undertake a period of research and investigation along Barcelona,s streets, buildings, doorways, hidden spaces, to capture the essence of Spain's history, through painting, drawing, sculpture, digital photography and sound.

The preliminary works will then be taken back to Australia, to create full scale pieces and installation, to be exhibited in Spain and Australia in 2006-7.

Germany 2005. Art Domain Gallery Exhibition

Jenny Davis will be part of an Abstract exhibition in Leipzig, Germany.

The gallery is located in the Villa Rosental. Built in 1904 by merchant Max Haunstein it is situated in one of the finest parts of Leipzig town. Villa Rosental has been a widely recognized address for art and cultural events since 1996.
