PROJECT CAN SERRAT 2005... ONGOING

In 2005, I was awarded an arts residency at Can Serrat International art center in Barcelona, Spain. I travelled for 4 weeks in Europe, visiting many countries creating along the way before arriving in Spain. During the arts residency I created a new series of work. I arrived back in Australia last November with 50 paintings and many drawings.

Project Can Serrat is an idea, not fully formed or realized. I want to leave it open for expansion and input from other creative people in all areas.

For now, Project Can Serrat is an ongoing series of Cross/Cultural exhibitions worldwide, between myself and other artists.

My latest exhibition at the Upper Yarra arts Center in Warburton Australia is part of this ongoing project.

I have just finished a dual exhibition in Coburg called “Immersions” Coming up in August this year I will be part of an International exhibition in North Carolina USA.

Over the past few months, I have been collaborating with New York artists, Amy Ernst  and  on an exhibition/Installation we are having in New York in 2007. Two other artists from America are also interested in bringing their work to Australia.

I am organising solo and group exhibitions in Australia and overseas with artists worldwide. In time, I may expand into other areas, not just galleries to invade non-traditional spaces with art installations, Happenings….whatever. I hope to add more work and artists as it progresses.

I continue to add to my own work from my studio in Yarra Junction Australia and whilst in transit within Australia and overseas in the future. I have recently applied for arts residencies in Ireland, Spain, France and USA.

I formed the concept after spending many hours talking and sharing ideas with artists from Australia and at the arts residency in Barcelona, Spain 2005.
